Continue to Level I Officer
All too many security organizations hire personnel “on-the-spot,” simply because they possess a California Guard Card, placing them directly in to the field as a (warm body), with little to no training! SecurElite has found that even those Officers who have had worked within the industry for numerous years typically do not perform at a level indicative of the standards that we demand. Bad habits from previous companies have been developed, and the old “Guard” mentality (as stereotyped on television), is imbedded within them.
SecurElite does not employee “Guards!” Our responsibility to all our clientele is to employ Security Professionals. Thus, when an Officer is selected to become a part of our Team, they must first complete a 30-day “Training Period” so as to properly orient them into our organization, and in some cases, completely re-train them! This training period is mandatory – regardless of previous experience, and is generally where the majority of any turn-over within our organization occurs. Many applicants simply do not want to change these habits, and are perfectly content being a “Guard.”
These types are rapidly released, or vented out even prior to being hired. And while they may not be working for SecurElite, be assured; “they are working within the security industry!”
A two day company Orientation is conducted in a classroom environment prior to any field assignment. Based on the facility location and job responsibility, on-the-job training continues for upward of three full shifts, and no less than one. These timeframes are based on management’s extensive knowledge of the actual assignment. SecurElite believes that Officers who are not capable of grasping the Job Duties after the established timeframes do not possess the analytic capabilities required, and are released from employment. Once placed on a location on their own, a tight supervisory grip is maintained on them throughout the 30-day period. This assures that when an Officer is released to a facility location, they have the knowledge and training needed to perform their duties in a professional, honest, and ethical manner.
Upon completion of the Training Period, the Officer is eligible for advancement to level I. In order to advance, they must have a completed Field Evaluation with a rating of 85% or higher, and pass an “Overview” written examination and achieve a score no less that a 90%.
